Sleeplessness is something that plagues Danny. Danny is given treatment by Dr. Reubens, a mad scientist, using his Cognitive Regression Utilizing pSychiatric Heuristics (C.R.U.S.H.) gadget. Danny gets taken to the mental institution because he is desperate for sleep but cannot acquire it. While there, he talks with Dr. Reubens. Dr. Reubens treats Danny. When Danny wears the device’s helmet, he is put into hypnosis. During this time, he can reclaim control of his sanity by finding his missing marbles and confronting his most basic fears in the shape of monsters.
